I’m a middle grade/young adult writer. I love to tell stories. I enjoy telling stories that make people laugh, that make people scared, that make people think, and that make people feel (preferably emotions and not bugs on their skin creeping and crawling all over with no way of escape in a cave covered in bugs).  Woo, glad we avoided awkward introductions.

Things to know about me:

  • I grew up in a house with a granny who abhorred the use of pronouns. She would frequently yell at me asking, “Who’s she? Who’s she?” as if saying she instead of granny was somehow a personal affront to the title she held. Of course, this would only occur when I was being an obstinate teenager and “sassing” her and telling my mother how I felt about my granny while my granny was still sitting nearby. Looking back, may not have been the best idea. (No worries everyone, I’m her favorite grandchild and she no longer yells at me about pronouns.) So, long story short, I learned the importance of word choice very early on in life.
(My granny mentioned above is seated third from the left on the couch in the red/white stripes. These other lovely ladies include my mom, bottom right, and my cousins and aunts)
  • I’m married to my best friend and greatest inspiration.  Together, we’ve created two little humans that are great in their own right.  Our oldest is on loan to us from the planet X (we’re guessing) and our second will do whatever her big brother tells her and one day will be Mrs. Tim Tebow (although I think her prospects are evolving).

  • Since I’ve hit my thirties, I’ve decided to start writing all my crazy thoughts down.  I’ve written several articles for Bleacher Report, because I’m a girl who knows A BUNCH about football with one of those articles making it all the way to the Huffington Post.

  • I’ve written a middle grade fantasy adventure in which monsters aren’t who you think they are, and I’m nearing completion on a middle grade contemporary in which a young girl’s world is turned upside down with a single word –  Gypsy. Stop by, sit a spell, and gets to know me!
